After the iPRES 2018 programming ends, keep the discussion going in a semi-structured space for informal conversations and planning. Join a group of regional, national, and international conference attendees and students to build on themes from the conference and discuss the future of digital preservation. 

This will be a semi-structured, unconference or roundtable-style event, with group participation in choosing topics and discussion. Something you want to talk about more or not discussed enough at iPRES that you think is important? Here’s your chance to bring it up! Like most standard unconference events, we will be determining the specific agenda the day of the event based on in-person attendee suggestions and voting. Once the sessions are chosen, participants will select which group they want to participate in during the event.

While the topics are largely open, the event will focus on four general themes: 

• tools/workflows
• policies
• infrastructure
• challenges

There will also be the possibility of doing a demo of a tool, should there be sufficient interest. These might be some potential topics; please suggest others during registration and during the session itself:

• What tools have you learned about that your institution could use? What new workflows would you need?  What new policies do you need?
• What are the biggest barriers to getting digital preservation infrastructure at your institution?  
• What are you doing that works?  What are you doing that doesn't?
• I’m new at this! How do I make sense of what I’ve learned and get started?
• What will be the challenges in the next 15 years of digital preservation?  How can we prepare for them? What aren't we anticipating?
